1. Independent service
WatermarkScope is an independent informational tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Anthropic. “Claude” is used only to describe the subject of the tool and related public information.
2. Tool limitations
The text tool detects selected Unicode formatting characters. It does not determine whether Claude or another AI authored text and does not verify removal of a statistical watermark. The file tool reads C2PA information where available; no credential does not mean a file is fake, unsafe, human-made, or AI-generated.
3. No professional conclusion
Results are not legal advice, copyright advice, academic-integrity findings, employment decisions, authorship proof, forensic certification, or a factual-truth assessment. Do not use a WatermarkScope result as the sole basis for a consequential decision about another person.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to evade lawful provenance, platform, school, employer, or safety controls; to misrepresent authorship; to remove signed file credentials; or to process material you are not authorized to handle.
5. Availability and warranties
The service is provided “as is” without a guarantee that every character, file format, credential, signature, or future watermarking method will be detected. Specifications, browser support, and Anthropic policies may change.
